On 23 May 2009 I was involved in a hit-and-run collision on my motorcycle, which left me with an amputated right leg below the knee.
On the 01-08-2024 I was invited, to represent my country, and attend this year’sISA WORLD PARA SURFING CHAMPIONSHIPS which will be held this year at Huntington Beach, California, USA from the 3rd to the 9th November 2024.
This is the highest level of surfing there is and there is NO bigger event in the world!!!
Those who know me on a personal level will know that obtaining my South African Colours has always been a dream of mine and my next goal is to become a World Para Surfing Champion!
I have always been under the impression that, whilst representing my country, that I'd receive some sort of government financial support. This is however is not the case at all and in fact we will be receiving NO support in this regard.
