A Heartbreaking Setback for Our Rescue Family 💔

Today, we are reaching out with heavy hearts.

Many of you know Barend as one of the dedicated people behind our rescue. For years, he has poured his heart, time, energy, and resources into helping animals who had nowhere else to go. Whether it was collecting food donations, transporting injured animals, delivering supplies, attending outreach projects,  responding to emergencies, or rescuing and relocating indigenous snakes, Barend was always there.

This week, tragedy struck.

Barend was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident. While we are incredibly grateful that he survived and escaped what could have been a devastating spinal injury, our only vehicle has been written off. Unfortunately, due to financial constraints with all available funds being used to benefit the animals in our care, the vehicle was not insured.
