Living with bipolar has brought so much magic, so much destruction, and so much spiritual growth. It is an incredibly difficult condition to live with, I am reserved in calling it an illness, but it is. The brain is our most critical functioning organ, and when that goes offline, everything takes the drop – work, relationships, physical health, addiction spikes, finances crash and a grasp on reality slips. 

I have been living with / surviving bipolar for almost 25 years now, and in retrospect it is a miracle I am still here and that not more damage has been done. I was diagnosed around the age of 27, but didn’t take my diagnosis seriously enough even into my early 30s. A character trait of having bipolar is often not believing in bipolar, I have been there and back periodically over the years.
