Dust Devils

For a few days each year, thousands of people gather in the Tankwa Karoo and build something extraordinary together. AfrikaBurn is a community forged out of wild imagination and created on the foundations of 11 guiding principles. 

Like Dust Devils forming from the ground up, from the heat of the event's signature burning sculptures, AfrikaBurn's year round programmes ripple out far beyond the annual event. From assisting the people and animals of the Tankwa, through educational enrichment and access to welfare services, to urban programmes that build community through agency and artistic and cultural expression.

Supporting the work beyond the Binnekring, the Dust Devils are a community in motion, propelling Gifting and Communal Effort towards a better world for all beings.
