About This Campaign
My name is Damon Elbourne, and I'm 17 years old and attend Felicitas School for the Intellectually and Physically Disabled Learners. I was born with an umbilical cord around my neck, which caused me to have a mental disability. Despite this challenge, I have a dream: to swim in the 2028 Paralympics.
I have been training diligently since January 2021 and have earned 45 medals so far. My proudest achievement is receiving the Gauteng District Award for Excellence in Sports from the Gauteng Department of Education. However, the costs associated with training and competing are high, and my family cannot afford them.
We are raising funds to cover the expenses for various swimming events and competitions for the year that are crucial for my development and selection for the Paralympics. Here is a breakdown of the costs:
Gauteng swimming competitions for 2025 (8 events)
- Total fees combined: R15,425
KZN swimming competitions for 2025 (3 events)
- Total fees combined: R17,285
