Help Monica walk without pain again

Many of our clients at Country Animal Clinic in Somerset West may remember Monica, who worked as a groomer at our grooming parlour until we closed the parlour just before Easter this year. The closure was purely a business decision, as it was no longer financially viable.

In the last few months before closing, Monica had to reduce her working hours to only three half days due to severe knee pain, making it increasingly difficult for her to continue working.

Since last year, we have been trying to assist Monica in getting a much-needed knee replacement—and finally, things are coming together.

Thanks to the kindness and generosity of medical professionals:

• The orthopaedic surgeon will perform the surgery pro rata
• The anaesthesiologist is also offering services pro rata
• The prosthesis is being donated

We have also received a hospital discount of R20,000, bringing the total hospital cost down from R69,000 to R49,000 for an estimated 5-day stay.
