Leaving No Child Behind on the Starting Line

This campaign marks the 10-year anniversary of the HOPE worldwide South Africa Cycling Team, a decade of taking on multiple cycling challenges across the country with one consistent purpose — to create real impact for children in underserved communities. As part of this milestone, we aim to raise R170,000 (0,000) in support of the Book & Breakfast Initiative (BBI) and our broader Early Childhood Development (ECD) programmes.

This year, the team will take on the 97 km Ride Joburg race on 22 November not only as a sporting challenge, but as a focused fundraising and awareness drive. The funds raised will directly support four key areas of work: strengthening ECD centres to ensure safe, compliant and well-resourced learning environments, providing daily nutrition to support healthy development and readiness to learn, expanding access to early learning materials and opportunities that build school readiness, and equipping caregivers with knowledge and tools to better support their children’s growth at home and in their communities.
