In loving memory of my lost smile
I was dismissed from the SABC in 2021. Along with my job, I lost my medical aid, pension, and nearly my home. It was a painful time that knocked the wind out of me.
I also lost several teeth, and with them, the confidence that came with my smile. Still, I’m getting back on my feet. I have a new job I love and a renewed sense of purpose — but I can’t yet flash the smile that once lit up a room.
Dental implants cost around R55,000, and I need several. My molars are missing, and the few that remain need replacing. It’s a lot of work — and a lot of money.
