Stand With Arnold Sodinga

I have started this crowd funding campaign because many people have read Arnold's story and have said they would like to help. Arnold Sodinga has worked for my family for almost 30 years.

He is one of the kindest, most honest and hardworking men I know.

Like so many South Africans, Arnold never dreamed of wealth or luxury. His dream was simple: to one day retire peacefully in his own little home.

In 2008, Arnold and his wife took out a R48,000 home loan through Standard Bank to buy that home.

Years ago, Arnold fell behind on some payments and my father stepped in to help. The arrears were settled, arrangements were made with the bank, and from that moment onward every single payment was made on time for almost 10 years.

In fact, Arnold even started paying EXTRA every month to try settle the loan sooner.

Over the years, more than R138,000 was paid to Standard Bank after the account was brought up to date.

So imagine the shock when my father recently contacted the bank assuming the house must surely almost be paid off.
