Every child deserves to learn in a safe, healthy and dignified environment. Yet thousands of learners across South Africa continue to attend schools that rely on unsafe pit and bucket toilets—facilities that place children's health, safety and education at risk every single day. Through our flagship campaign, #TheBucketStopsWithMe, the HomeComing Foundation is working to change that reality.

Our mission is to replace dangerous sanitation facilities with safe, sustainable and dignified ablution infrastructure in disadvantaged schools. Working alongside communities, engineers, contractors, corporate partners and donors, we identify schools with the greatest need, assess each site and construct sanitation facilities that provide learners with access to clean, safe toilets and handwashing facilities. Every project is designed to create a healthier learning environment while reducing the risks associated with inadequate sanitation.
