Help Us Save a White Rhino Calf: Rehabilitation and Rescue Effort
Overview
We need your help to save a young white rhino calf who has endured a traumatic and life-threatening attack. Located on Tugela Game Reserve in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, this 10 month old calf was severely injured after an attack by a hippo. With your support, we can ensure this calf gets the intensive care and protection it needs to save it's life.
The Urgent Situation
During a routine patrol, our rangers discovered the calf in a dire state. It was bleeding heavily, weak, and struggling to walk. The injuries included large puncture holes and deep lacerations to both its hind and front legs. Immediate intervention by our dedicated team of local veterinarians has stabilised the calf, but the journey to full recovery is far from over.
