Why Zanethemba Charity Foundation?

Zanethemba has a baby haven in Walmer, Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), South Africa. This registered temporary safe care facility serves the heartbreaking purpose of caring for abused, abandoned and neglected babies from newborn to six years old who are placed there by court order after social workers have had to remove these most vulnerable members of our community out of harm's way. My wife, Catherine, has been running Zanethemba since 2014. Although the haven has wonderful caregivers, a caring board and Catherine has helpful colleagues, it's been hard to stand by and watch almost helplessly as this responsibility weighs on her through sleepless nights, tireless fund raising and great personal cost.
