When we first met Impi, she was trying to disappear.

A tiny caracal, taken from the wild before she had the chance to grow up with her mother, pressed herself against the sharp metal of her cage, hissing and trying to disappear into the corners.

She was terrified. Every instinct told her she belonged with her mother. She belonged in the bushveld. My heart broke because she was right.

That is why Wild Heart Wildlife Foundation exists. Because every wild soul deserves the chance to go home.

Since 2015, we have rescued, reared, rehabilitated and released thousands of injured, orphaned and displaced indigenous wild animals — giving each one the chance to return to where they belong.

Every story is different.
