Princess Alice Adoption Home
Princess Alice Adoption Home (PAAH) was opened in 1930 and is located in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Our residential programme cares for 30 babies and toddlers (aged 0 to 2 years old) who have been consented for adoption or abandoned.
As a facility of Joburg Child Welfare, our aim is to protect the vulnerable little people in our care and provide them with everything that they need until they are placed with their forever families.
We have an active volunteer programme. Volunteers assist us in filling the gaps in our resources and brightening up the lives of our children.
Furthermore, PAAH was the second children's home in South Africa to introduce the "Granny Programme" into our daily routine. The Granny Programme focuses entirely on the emotional well being of the young children, and providing them with individual attention and stimulation to ensure that they are able to develop to their full potential within the nursery environment.
As an NPO, we rely heavily on donor funding and public support to maintain a health, happy and resourced environment for the children to live and develop in.
In 2022, we cared for 44 babies and toddlers.
